World Kidney Day – AMs show support for Welsh renal charity

Assembly Members Joyce Watson and Eluned Morgan this week (8 March) met representatives of the Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales, at a special Senedd event to mark World Kidney Day.
The Swansea-based charity was founded four years ago in memory of Paul ‘Wally’ Popham, who battled with renal failure for half his life before losing his brave battle in October 2012.
The service provides advice, support and facilities for kidney patients, as well as a befriending scheme for sufferers and carers.
There are around 10,000 people with renal disease in Wales and more at risk, the charity reports.
