Senedd Member Joyce Watson this week (6 Sept) joined Age Cymru for an information day at HaverHub.

The politician and charity representatives chatted with residents about a range of services and support for older people.

Speaking after the event, Mrs Watson said:

“Like everyone else, lots of older people are incredibly worried about spiralling living costs – particularly households with a pre-payment meter, those living in park homes, ‘off-grid’ households and care home residents. So expert advice and support is vital.

“A topic that came up time and again was access to information, especially for older people without access to the internet or a smart phone. Age Cymru can help signpost to support like the Welsh Government’s Winter Fuel Support Scheme, which has been extended this year to include those in receipt of Pension Credit.

“I would encourage any older person who is struggling with these or any other issue to contact Age Cymru for help.”
