AM's stance against abuse

A MID and West Wales AM has backed a campaign to protect the elderly from abuse.
Joyce Watson said she backed Age Cymru’s Rule Out Abuse campaign because she believed action was needed to protect society’s most vulnerable people from harm.
An estimated 39,000 older people in Wales suffer physical, financial, emotional or sexual abuse, or neglect in their own homes, according to the AM.
She said: “It is concerning that Wales has the highest rate of elder abuse in the UK and I am committed to working with Age Cymru to tackle this problem head on.”
