Joyce welcomes further investment to Aberystwyth

1517706_10152232541689796_573947810_nJoyce Watson AM for Mid and West Wales welcomed the news by Carl Sargeant, the minister for housing and regeneration that more investment is to be ploughed into regenerating Aberystwyth, with the Welsh government pledging a further £570,000 to repair the bandstand.
Joyce commented, ‘When I saw Aberystwyth in January soon after the storms, the desolation was total, a very sad sight to see. The heart of Aberystwyth has now been lifted with the rebuilt shelter being restored in its right place helping to lift the springs of the town, alongside the pool, making it ready for a hot summer and with further news of investment into one of Wales’s best seaside towns. This shows that Wales is ready for tourists and we hope they are ready for Wales.’
The Welsh Government has funded the work needed to repair the promenade following the winter and early spring storms and also invested in the appearance and fabric of properties on the seafront in recent years.
