Drama Helps to Tackle Domestic Abuse Amongst the Young

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At the end of November, the Campaign White Ribbon tackled the problem of Domestic Abuse.
“Young people and schools have a very big part to play,” explained Joyce Watson AM who has been one of the leaders of the campaign from the very beginning.
“Education is more than teachers, pupils and classrooms. That is why we were very pleased that Kirsty Williams, the Minster for Education and Lifelong Learning in the Government of Wales, agreed to sponsor A Peer Education Production in the Neuadd of the Welsh Assembly’s Senedd.”
Relationships Shouldn’t Hurt is a professionally written play which has been performed a number of times by Mid Powys Youth Theatre across venues in Powys.
It aims to tackle the issues facing young people in unhealthy relationships. The play can be used as a way to address unhealthy behaviour in teenage relationships. It can be viewed as a free tool and resource for High Schools and can be used in Drama classes and in Personal and Social Educational sessions.
